Before we start and get everyone acquainted with what the third year New Jersey Revolution have done this offseason; I would like to welcome everyone to “The Battlefield”. This will be the fans home for news, views, previews, and game recaps. Now lets get into the action!
First,The Revs have announced their ‘08 coaching staff which will feature Coach D taking over the reigns from Scott Veith. Coach D has an extensive background in indoor football having played in three different leagues. It’s his motivational skills and hard working mentality which should surely help the Revs this season, and don’t forget he is a true grid iron gladiator never wearing ANY pads except a helmet. Taking over the offense is Al Forsythe who was part of the staff of the Outlaws who had back to back winning seasons and playoff appearances in their first two years. Moe Cooper has an extensive playing and coaching resume and last season was the Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator for the Summit County Rumble. Tom Tamburri will lead the special teams after spending time as a semi-pro football coach. Also coming in from Lehigh Valley is Trev Marcks who will be coaching the defensive line. Coming in to the coach the offensive side of the line is former USFL player Mike McClearn. Strength and Conditioning will be head by Grant Neary who is the owner and director of Power Hitter Sports Performence.
Second, the Revs have announced that their home games will feature the “Rev It Up Girls” who will be lead by former NFL cheerleader Miranda Lobs. Also on the prowl are the “Junior Rev It Up Girls”. I know for one I can’t wait to see their halftime moves!
Third, well now it’s time for some news focused on the future! The CIFL has announced their ‘08 schedule and the Revolution will start their third campaign off against an ‘07 playoff team in the Miami Valley Silverbacks. Before their home opener the Revs will suit up against the Silverbacks, Saginaw Sting, Lehigh Valley Outlaws, and CIFL champions Rochester Raiders. The home opener is against the Tide who reside in Chesapeake.
Finally, January 20th is the last open tryout for the Revs. Visit the teams official website for additional information!
